Welcome!,

If you are a new track creator to this forum or whether you're an old one and you're wanting some tips on advertising your tracks + getting feedback read on!,

Step one:
In your browsing of these forums you may have come across a site called http://www.trialshd.net, this is a site dedicated to providing an alternate solution to global track sharing. By all means register on there and upload your tracks.

- Dont be alarmed if you dont get any feedback from the site or if your tracks are not being ranked/times submitted etc, the track creation community is huge now and the site is run by a lovely chap called Gamescrub who is doing all of this on his own back. SO view this site as just another means of advertising your tracks and your gamertag.

Step two:
Register on this site and make a topic in the user-generated category something like:

Tracks by 'woohoo'

- Introduce yourself and your new track, it's difficult to get noticed these days so a http://www.youtube.com video of your track will really help your cause also and if you dont have the means to do this, there are some very kind users on this forum that will do it for you if you ask!

-If you are brand new to the site you may need to post a few messages first on the forums before the forum allows you to make your own topic so why not use this time to leave feedback to other creators on the forums.

Step three:
There are plenty of other ways in which you can get noticed, for example:

- Share your gamertag on http://www.gamefaq.com in the trialsHD board
-Leave feedback for other creators tracks and let them know about your tracks and they are more likely to respond in the same way.
-A forum signature with a link to your youtube videos/track feedback thread helps also!

Final thing:

You may or may not recieve feedback at first, dont worry! it will come in time, just get involved in the community and people 'will' return the favour=) and if they dont prod them until they do! Use feedback to better yourself aswell, dont view it as a negative even if you spent 100 hrs on a track, we all miss things. Be constructive when giving feedback, say what you liked, what worked and what you struggled with.

Everyone wants their work to be noticed especially if you put alot of time into it but it will come, so be patient and well my personal opinion it's not necessary to put 'as recommended by Redlynx' on the end if a developer liked your stuff (which is cool but you know...come on) but hey this is a humble and friendly guide, make tracks for fun that's what it's all about right? :D

Tip from Gamescrub for trialshd.net
Quote:
Somethings I would recommend are URL shortcuts to specific parts of the website. For example...

Create a link to your portal, just modify the GameScrub with your gamertag and it will take them to your portal that has the list of tracks.

http://www.trialshd.net/Player.aspx?g=GameScrub

You have your own individual leaderboard for YOUR tracks just use the following URL just modify the gamertag to have yours,

http://www.trialshd.net/PlayerLeaderboa ... =GameScrub

If you want to directly point to a specific track that you own then copy the URL from the details page. Each track has a unique ID so as long as you pass the correct ID's for your tracks you can get the Details and Leaderboards for that specific site

http://www.trialshd.net/TrackDetails.aspx?TrackID=668
http://www.trialshd.net/Leaderboards.aspx?TrackID=668

Put stuff like these on your signatures or thread and you can get people to view your information a lot easier.

AK

Nice idea for a thread, I know some people out there with great tracks but who don't know how to go about sharing their levels with the rest of the community. Maybe this will help them out :)

Ok I added a link to this thread from the site.

This. I often don't give feedback because people tend to get offended if I point out some things that could need fixing in their tracks. Of course it's always nice to hear positive feedback, but I personally value constructive criticism the most.

updated =)

well if you dont know how to give constructive criticism then just say what you liked, at least it points the creator in the right direction that they are doing something that works :)

Thanks. As you can see I'm new here, (first post actually). I just made my first track, and it too me like 8 hours to do. I just lost track of time haha.

Thanks for giving us new cats a heads up on how to get a map out there.
